Antequera is a medium-sized town in the province of Málaga, situated at the foot of the 'El Torcal' and 'El Arco Calizo Chimenea' mountain ranges, approximately 47 kilometres (30 miles) from the province's capital, the city of Málaga. From Málaga airport, you can reach Antequera within 45 minutes. Antequera is a true gem. The real Andalucia, not yet affected by mass tourism. The town is situated at a crossroads between Seville, Granada, Córdoba, Málaga and Ronda, in the very heart of Andalucia. Almost everything worth visiting in Andalucia is easy tov reach from Antequera.

Casa Castillo kijkt uit over de oude wijk San Juan, ligt aan de rand van Antequera en biedt prachtige uitzichten richting de Moorse vesting en richting de bergen. Vanuit onz bed en breakfast loop je dus zo de natuur en de 'campo' in. En toch ben je lopend binnen vijf minuten in het centrum van Antequera. Je ziet het op deze foto. Het beste van twee werelden!
Culture and history

Semana Santa
Antequera has a rich culture and history: museums, architecture, archeological finding places (Moorish, Roman, prehistoric)... It is surrounded by a breath-taking landscape, with mountains, lakes and so much more. The most important festivities are 'Semana Santa', the 'Feria de Primavera' and in Summer there are many cultural activities: the 'Antequera Blues Festival', 'La Noche Flamenca', and more. All these activities take place within an atmosphere of a warm Summer nights under a star-bespangled sky. In Summer, local life adapts to the warmer temperatures and is slowly re-awakes after a lazy afternoon. Until the wee small hours, locals and visitors alike enjoy each other's company with a few drinks and tapas. All ages, from the very young to the very old, can be seen strolling along the streets.

City trips, sun & sea

Costa del Sol
Daarnaast kun je beroemde steden als Málaga (30-40 min), Córdoba (een uur) Granada (een uur), Ronda (een uur) en Sevilla (anderhalf uur) gemakkelijk in een dag bezoeken. Ook een dagje kust is heel goed te doen: en dan kun je kiezen uit de bekende plaatsen Torremolinos, Fuengirola en Marbella aan de ene kant van Málaga en andere, meer authentieke Spaanse vissersplaatsjes aan de andere kant van de stad. Daar kun je vlak aan zee genieten van heerlijke verse gegrilde of gefrituurde vis rechtstreeks uit de zee. Als je geluk hebt, zie je nog een visser met zijn bootje aanmeren of zijn netten leeghalen.
